A rainy Sunday last week called for some new indoor games!
We started with some painting and after an enjoyable hour of painting we had made a birthday card for Grandad. The animals and their feet got involved too, so while Matt and Sprout gave her animals a bath I set to work on our next game!
All it took was a roll of masking tape and a basket full of Happyland people to create a quick and fun game. I stuck each person down to the floor facing a different way and some with more tape than others to make it more of a challenge. Masking tape was great because it didn’t leave any marks on the people and was gentle if it got stuck to Sprout.
Sprout methodically worked her way from one side of the group to the other, making a pile of scrunched up tape on the floor and depositing each figure back into the basket. It was so interesting to see how she approached it because I didn’t give her any instructions. We mostly talked about who was wearing a hat and who wasn’t, hats are beloved in our house!
We then played the same game with Sprout’s plastic animals and ended up with a whole menagerie stuck to the floor! The animals were great because I could poke the tape between their legs and round their necks, which definitely made them harder to free.
We are going to do this again soon, it took minutes to set up and the variations are endless. Next time we are going to try duplo blocks or kitchen utensils!
