Treasure tin : Mini pat mats

I made some mini pat mats for Sprout’s treasure tin recently. They are much smaller than the ones I usually make, but at 12 x 20cm they are the perfect size to tuck in her tin and take out with us.

You can cut the laminating pouches to any size you like to make custom sized mats. The easiest way to cut them and get nice straight edges is to use a craft knife, ruler and cutting mat. You can find full instructions to make your own pat mats in my blog post here.

I used feathers and sequins to fill two of them and tried out a new idea in the third, polymer shapes! They are teeny tiny little slices of polymer clay, which are used as nail stickers and work so brilliantly in a pat mat. They are lovely and bright and Sprout has great fun spotting fruit, animals and letters.
