Our latest homemade game consisted of toilet roll tubes sellotaped together and stuck to the kitchen cupboard with masking tape. I popped a box of Happyland people and a shopping basket next to it and waited for Sprout to discover her new slides!
I made each slide a different length and cut a window into one of them. She loved seeing the people slide down through the opening and sometimes the people jumped through the window too.
We learnt some interesting lessons about size because some of the Happyland people didn’t fit down their slides. We found ourselves a wooden spoon and poked them out!
This game is great because it was quick to make from household items, it doesn’t need much space and is endlessly adaptable. Sprout has asked to decorate the toilet rolls first, the next time we play slides!
