Eight months ago I started a rag rug with a red heart in the middle. I’ve been working on it recently and it is steadily growing. I am working around the edge with blue fabrics, graduating from light to dark. I really love the simplicity of this rug and I can’t wait to get it finished. If you fancy learning how to make a rag rug (and a rag wreath) then you can come along to a workshop that I am running at Making Space in November. You can find all the details here.
Its looking lovely but I’m also pleased to see you haven’t finished yet. I’m still working on mine but haven’t touched it for a while. This might inspire me to pick it up again this weekned 🙂
Thank you Emma. I’m glad its getting cooler, it gets really hot having a big rug on your lap!
It’s beautiful! I’d love to make a rag rug, will have to add it to my To Do list!
Thank you 🙂 You should come along to Making Space – its going to be a great day!
Thats a lovely rag rug, it reminds me of one I made years ago only mine was in the shape of a red heart but had no background. I really would recommend rug making as a hobby it is so relaxing and addictive too.! xxx
Thank you so much Joyce! Yes I really enjoy doing it, soon it will keep my knees warm as it grows!
