I had such a lovely sunny Saturday yesterday, the morning was filled with a bunting workshop for Making Space, in which everyone was making flags to celebrate the launch of The Boat Project. We had great fun with piles of fabric, felt and fabric crayons! If you would like to come along to one of these free sessions and add your flag to the bunting then check out the rest of the dates here. Alternatively you can make your flags at home using the template and drop them off at Making Space by the 23rd of April.
I spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine and cutting out a pile of hexagons to add into my heirloom quilt. It was lovely to finally cut into the stripy brown and pink fabric, which is a limited edition fat quarter that I bought from the V&A when I went to see the Quilts 1700-2010 show. I love that the design of this fabric was taken from a patchwork coverlet made in Britain, dated 1797.
Then to complete an already lovely day (which also included handmade burgers and an ice-cream!) I found a parcel from Indigo Dot. I am now the proud owner of a set of her acorn buttons, which she sent as a thank you for featuring her work! They were beautifully packaged, tied onto card with raffia and held together with another stunning wooden button. Thank you Susana!

Oh my gosh I LOVE those acorn buttons!! What a clever idea!! I’ve never heard of fabric crayons before but they definitely sound like something I’d love to try out! :)) x
