Every time we come in the back gate and through the garden Sprout wants to play outside. When we came home from a playgroup last week, Sprout was delighted to find some ice. She is always splashing water around and some of the water left in her buckets had frozen overnight. She was so excited that we decided to set up a whole table of containers with water in them as an experiment to leave out overnight.
We picked pots of different shapes and sizes and chose some interesting things to put in some of them. Then we poured different amounts of water into each pot and left them overnight to freeze.
Sprout was so excited to discover which ones had frozen and which hadn’t. The forks and the pinecone were our favourite frozen things. We also went back to the table a few hours later to see if there was any ice left. We loved this super simple experiment!
