Sprout and I had been hoping to go to a Fresh Air Learning session for months but the dates had always clashed with her busy social calendar! We finally got our chance on Friday and had a fantastic time with Jess at her new teaching location, Grange Farm in Gosport.
Matt has had a few weeks off over Christmas so we could all go together. We collected firewood, built dens, balanced on a strapline like a tightrope, played on a homemade tree swing, collected bugs and leaves to examine with a magnifying glass and toasted marshmallows around the campfire.
We had a fantastic time and loved that the session was adaptable to each child. Jess had all the activities ready to go and each family could pick what to do whenever they liked and for as long as they liked. If we wanted we could have collected firewood the whole time. Sprout wanted to try out everything and her favourite part was building a den.
The session cost £7 per family and that included a hot drink and nibbles (biscuits and marshmallows for toasting!). Parking is free on site.
