Sprout explores : Forest of Bere

The Forest of Bere has gorgeous walking trails through the trees, an adventure playground and a huge sandpit to play in, the perfect place to visit with Sprout.

We went there for the first time on Mother’s Day and had a brilliant time. We walked from the car park (which fills up quickly so get there early) straight down the hill into the forest for a poke around. Sprout played in the leaves, balanced on logs and discovered some dens, which soon became her houses.

I was treated to a coffee and yummy pastry from the van in the car park (which is there most of the time) whilst Sprout and Daddy played in the park. Then we crossed over the path to the amazing sand pit, which has wooden structures all around the edge. They are all different shapes and sizes, this whole area is perfect for imaginative play.

A friend had told us to take our bucket and spade, so we were armed and ready for the huge sand pit. We played with sticks and pinecones too and built lots of sandcastles. We will definitely be going back soon, I think we will love it even more when Sprout’s little legs can walk further!

We had a lovely time at the Forest of Bere, it’s very family friendly as there are toilets, picnic benches and lots to explore and play with.
