Sprout explores : Marwell zoo

We went to Marwell Zoo for Sprout’s birthday and had a fantastic day! We arrived when they opened and left ten minutes before they closed, with a nap in the middle and so many exciting moments either side.

Sprout was so excited to come face to face with penguins, one of her very favourite animals. There were lots of spots to see them and you can get incredibly close. There are underwater windows to keep an eye on too.

I was really excited to see rhinos and Sprout loved seeing them walk past and go into their house, where she told us “they were going to do their colouring!”

It’s a very family friendly place to go, with plenty of facilities and clear signposting. We particularly loved the undercover picnic area because it meant we could eat whenever we wanted and didn’t need to wait in line for lunch. There are loads of helpful tips on the Marwell Zoo website too to make planning your day easier.

The newly built tropical house is fantastic, filled with exotic birds and 2500 fish. Marwell is a wonderful place to make memories, I’m sure we will be going back.
