Play : Seaside sensory tray

The weather was gorgeous on Sunday, so we went for a walk along the beach. Sprout scooted along on her Scuttlebug, Matt got an ice cream and I collected shells for a sensory tray. Sprout got involved and her pockets were soon full of treasure.

When we got home I washed and dried our treasure and hunted out some other things to add to our tray. I used a small blue tray to mimick the sea and poured in cous cous for sand. Sprout has a mini bucket and spade set and I also popped a turtle and two fishes in.

Sprout loved her tray and we played with it on and off for three days. Animals played in the sand, shells were used as scoops, stones were buried and plenty of cous cous ended up on the floor!
