Sprout absolutely loves her toy animals at the moment and we are amassing quite the collection! I’ve been trying to think of some new ways of playing with them and came across this idea.
All you need to make your own is a basket with holes in it, some wool scraps, something to hide in the bottom and a bit of patience! It took me about an hour to thread the wool through and tie it in place. I used wool that I had to hand, you could also use string or ribbon. I like the wool because it has a bit of stretch when an animal gets caught on the way up, making the game even more interesting. It’s also nice to have bright colours to talk about whilst playing. To make the game easier you could also use toys that have smoother shapes, we have also used Happyland figures which are much easier to untangle.
