Catherine Hill, Frome

We recently spent the weekend with my parents in Somerset and they suggested heading to Frome for the day. It’s a lovely little town, full of independent shops, great places to eat, artists studios and a brilliant indoor farmers market. We began our day by sampling and buying local cheese, discovered some great shops and had a very tasty lunch at the Garden Cafe.

The Life of Riley FromeMy favourite street was Catherine Hill, where you will find The Life of Riley, a store full of treasures and lovely old things. We also discovered a gallery selling beautiful handmade pieces called Owl and then Sisters Guild was right next door.

Owl in FromeMarmalade Yarns had a seriously tempting range of wool on offer and the best door sign! There were some seriously well presented vintage clothes shops and you will find Hunting Raven Books on Cheap Street, an independent bookshop with some great titles, particularly in the arts section.

If you continue a little further up Catherine Hill you will also find Millie Moon, perfect for that fabric fix!

If you are ever nearby I would highly recommend a trip to Frome, it has such a lovely atmosphere and so many independent shops to support! We will most certainly be returning…
