After making so many handmade presents for Christmas, I decided that my next project would be something for myself! I spotted a gorgeous pattern for a cable striped scarf in Knitting magazine, chose some chunky wool from my stash and got to work. I am loving the chunky pattern and the scarf itself is quite narrow – just perfect!
Looking good!
Thank you Alison!

I love colour & it’s definitely healthy to do some selfish projects – great way to start the year!
Thank you! It’s super soft wool too π
That is going to be gorgeous.
I really like it, I will post photos when I finish it π
Your scarf is going to be gorgeous, it’s pretty so far.
I admire your talent for knitting. I never could get the hang of it.
Thank you very much! Its a pretty simple pattern and cable looks tricky but is super easy when you know how π
Do you have a tutorial on this, I need someone to walk me through this or even a pattern? Love this scarf and would love to master cables as it is part of my half Irish Roots.
Hi Nancy, this pattern is in Knitting Magazine 124.
A beautiful yarn choice. I think we appreciate our own makes far more than our usual receivers as we appreciate more the time and effort that has gone into it!
It feels lovely to make something for myself π
Just caught up with your handwarmer pattern – super! Thankyou.
My pleasure – enjoy!
I would love to cable knit like that – I’m still on stocking stitch scarves π
It really is simple – trust me!
