If you love the idea of a handmade Christmas and you love to work with felt, then Fa la la la Felt by Amanda Carestio is the perfect book for you! This fantastic festive book has 45 different decorations for you to make in lots of different styles and colours, from 14 talented contributors.
This book is divided up into three sections, ornaments, decorations and stockings. The varied contents include some traditional ideas and some lovely quirky designs too including wreaths, garlands and gift tags.
At the front of the book you will find a section on embroidery, which clearly explains all of the stitches which are used to great effect throughout the book. I particularly love the stitching on the layered Snowflake Baubles by Esther Coar, which are in the photo below. Some designs, including some of the stockings, are stitched by machine but the majority can be sewn by hand. This makes most of the projects in this book quick to make and portable – perfect in the busy few weeks before Christmas!
My very favourite design in this book is the gingerbread house by the lovely Laura Howard! They are so sweet and I love the scalloped icing roof.
