I was out shopping for workshop supplies the other day when a gorgeous looking magazine caught my eye! It is called Made in Felt and is filled full of projects, 33 in total, which include lots of different toys, homewares, a garland, brooches, a wreath and mobiles.
There is a fantastic stitching basics page which talks you through nine different stitches and techniques that are often used with felt.
There are some great interviews with four crafters who love to work with felt. Jillian Carmine, Jackie Huang and Gillian Harris all share their work and creative processes. My favourite interview is with The Big Forest, a partnership who create amazing eccentric characters!
The magazine also includes a feature on The Giving Bunny Project which was created by Niamh O’Connor of Urban Threads. I love the idea of making little bunnies and leaving them somewhere to be found. This project has travelled across the world and I think I’ll be stitching some bunnies soon!
This issue focusses on stitched felt and needle felting and there is such a wide range of projects to try out. I can’t wait for the next issue to come out, until then I’ve added lots more onto my must-make list, including this hot air balloon mobile!
Looks like a fabulous magazine. I will be checking this one out too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Marie! Its a great read.
Ooh I have been tempted by this magazine…I may see if mum wants to go halves š
Great idea!
OOooo maybe we should promote the little bunnies on knit pompey and see if anyone wants to make them at knitting group, we could put them out for people to find on our way home š
