Silly Old Suitcase & Yellow Spool Tutorials

This is the second post of a week long series called Sort, Store, Organise! Every single day this week there will be a post with ideas on how to spruce up your studio for a busy year ahead! Yesterday’s post showed you some ways that I organise my workspace and on the way this week is a book review, this month’s treasure hunting post and much more!

Creative storage is great and the best kind has to be handmade storage, which you have enjoyed making, is functional and then looks beautiful. I’ve found two tutorials that I love to share with you, one from Silly Old Suitcase and one from Yellow Spool.

The first of these is a beautifully simple tutorial to make a washi tape holder to hang above your desk. All the materials you will need for this one can be found in your house so you can get making straight away! Click on the photo below to read the tutorial on the Silly Old Suitcase blog.

The lovely Stacie from Yellow Spool has found a great use for embroidery hoops and has written a whole series of tutorials so that you can make your very own beautiful sewing notions wall. The simplicity and practicality of this design really appeals to me and my fingers are itching to get started on my very own set. Click on the photo below to go through to the Yellow Spool blog and to find the tutorials – she shows you a fantastic way to hang them too!

In tomorrow’s post I will show you an inventive way of storing and displaying your button stash!
