The Pin Cushion Swap

When I heard about a pin cushion swap on Twitter organised by Charlotte of Sew Far Sew Good and House of Pinheiro I signed up straight away. I love taking part in swaps, you get to make something lovely for someone that you don’t know and in return you receive a surprise in the post! Smiles all around. I made my own pincushion using hand stitched hexagonal patchwork. The design is pretty and functional (a winning combination!) so I set about making one for my swap partner, Fiona from Love Alfie.

The finished pin cushion.
I picked this lovely scissor fabric for the reverse.
The top is completely hand stitched.

I was so chuffed when my pin cushion arrived in the post yesterday. Fiona made me the cutest pin cushion with the neatest stitching…

…and she also made me a beautiful sewing case, filled with all the essentials. She obviously knew that I can’t physically leave the house without sewing tucked in my bag and this is the perfect way to keep everything organised! What a wonderful surprise, thank you so much Fiona it made my day.

  1. I loved my pin cushion so much – the fabrics are a perfect choice and I love hexagons! It was wrapped so nicely too, and your little ‘hello’ stickers are adorable – Thank you! x

  3. Hi Georgina – I also took part in the pincushion swap and had great fun designing and making the pincushion. I really loved taking part as it was my first time – it’s lovely to share things with fellow crafters. I really love your blog and your products are so cute – I have just recently started blogging myself and I am really enjoying it! Bee 🙂
