When I was little my sister and I had fabric advent calendars which my Mum would fill up with our favourite chocolate. One year I decided that she needed one so I sewed her one out of scraps of Christmas fabric and wrote all the numbers on with a gold pen. Then last year I decided to take on the challenge of making another one for Matt. I used mine as a basic template (I like that they match) and spent many hours embroidering numbers and pictures and then blanket stitched all around the edge. It was hard to keep it hidden and flat but it was worth the effort. He loves his calendar and the contents too, special vegetarian jelly sweets!
